Project Overview

This project presents the design of an educational workshop titled “AI Tools for Enhancing Higher Education Students.” It aims to raise awareness among Arab postgraduate students at Qatar University about how to use AI tools in a practical and ethical way to support their studies and improve their academic performance. The project included full planning for the workshop goals, content, activities, assessment, as well as the presentation slides and the evaluation survey.

The project focused on tools such as Grammarly, Conker, Twee, and ChatGPT, helping students learn about their educational uses, understand the ethical issues connected to them, and apply them to their real academic needs. It also included interactive sessions, hands-on activities, group discussions, a workshop evaluation survey, and a WhatsApp group to support continued learning after the workshop.

This work reflects creativity in instructional design, because I did not only collect information, but also worked on turning it into a clear, organized, and meaningful learning experience for the target audience. In designing the project, I considered the students’ needs, the cultural context, the sequence of activities, and the connection between learning, practice, and follow-up support after the workshop. This can also be seen in the use of Understanding by Design as a framework to build the workshop starting from the learning goals, then the activities and assessment.
